A Few of Our Service Projects

Northeastern
Rural Health -
On June 2, 2005 a donation was made by Soroptimist International of Susanville to Northeastern Rural Health Clinic. These funds will
be used towards the purchase of a new procedure table in the Women’s Health clinic.
(2004-05 President, Jean Loosemore allocated her President’s
funds towards this project, with the balance being donated from the Club’s Service Fund.)
Maureen
Murphy Memorial Cookbook—
In
collaboration with Northeastern Rural Health Clinics, helping to pay for breast and cervical cancer screenings for women.
Various Scholarships—
For graduating high school seniors and college students.
Clothes
Closet—
In collaboration with employment services agencies, helping needy individuals seeking employment
with clothing appropriate for work and job interviews.
Lassen
Family Services Women’s Shelter—
Donations of food and clothing to women and children displaced due to domestic violence.
Camp Ronald
McDonald—
Ongoing
donations to help fund camperships, counselors, etc.
Promises—
Responding to specific needs of this substance abuse program for pregnant and parenting women.
Baby Think It Over -
The latest in high-tech infant simulators provide
local 9th graders with an opportunity to experience teen parenting.
Women's Opportunity Award -
Acknowledging and supporting the hard work of women returning to school while raising a family.
Sober Graduation—
Annual donation to ensure the continuation of this free event in our community that protects
the lives of our young adults.
Christmas
Baskets—
Providing
food and gifts to low-income families in our community during the holiday season.
Senior of the Month—
Acknowledging the academic performance
and citizenship of local high school seniors.
Janesville Park Beautification Project -
Janesville Park is more beautiful today thanks to the 2002-2003 President's
Project and a grant received from SNR.
New Lamp for Memorial Park

Winebarger's Presidents Project Memorial
Park in Susanville now has a new lamp.
